Furniture Bank of Central Ohio & Breakfast with Nick’s Review of Tommy’s Diner
Rob & I had been wanting to do a volunteer date for awhile now & we finally got the chance! I’m very familiar with the Furniture Bank of Central Ohio due to my job (I’m a social worker) but I only get to see one side. I’ve always wanted to help out behind the scenes because of how much I love & appreciate FBCO and also being able to see how much they help people obtain much-needed furniture for their homes! And Rob loves working with his hands, so this was a perfect first Volunteer Date!
We worked alongside 11 other awesome volunteers (they were from Westerville Christian Church) this past Saturday–Rob built coffee tables with 2 other guys & I sanded all the tables that came my way! The 3 hours flew by! Sean, the Volunteer Coordinator, was great & super helpful.
Afterward, we stopped at Tommy’s Diner. YUM! Everyone there was incredibly friendly & my tuna melt & Rob’s breakfast were AWESOME! Definitely two thumbs up to this local favorite!
Total: $20 for our food + coffee + tax + tip @ Tommy’s Diner.
Kisses:
*FBCO is such a great organization so it was so much fun to help them out!
*Time truly flies when you’re volunteering!
*We were able to help make brand new kitchen tables & coffee tables for families.
*Tommy’s Diner is locally owned/operated & right by FBCO.
*Food was great as was the service!
*The atmosphere @ Tommy’s is right out of a 50′s diner–super fun!
*Parking is easy at both (& free!)
*We got to explore the West Side of Columbus–did you know Franklinton is the first settlement of Columbus??
Misses:
*Umm…none!
This was such a fun date for both of us–any suggestions for future volunteer dates??
P.S.–If you would like to volunteer at the Furniture Bank of Central Ohio, just call 272-9544 x 212 or email *protected email*! OR if you have furniture you would like to donate to help out a family in need, call that same number (option 3)! They pick up needed furniture for FREE! (Can you tell I love FBCO??
)
Happy Dating,
PocketBook Jess
