There are SOOOO {I can’t overemphasize so!} many awesome things going on at the Columbus Commons. Rob, who is from NYC, says the Commons is like Columbus’s own Central Park, which I wholeheartedly agree! There seems to always be something cool going on there and it’s near the center of our downtown.

We went to the Commons last Thursday, wanting to try out their Local Brews & Burgers event, occurring every Thursday from 5p-7p. But when we got there, we saw the event had been cancelled due to gross weather. Determined to not let this hiccup stop us from having an awesome $20Date, we took a walk around the park. That’s when we stumbled across De-NoVo, a fancy looking restaurant directly across the park, with a cool patio and neat decor. We were pleasantly surprised at their affordable (& YUMMY!) Happy Hour menu, and we will definitely be back!

Top reasons why this is an awesome $20Date:

  • This date can occur on really, ANY day of the week! That’s the beauty of parks! And Happy Hour!
  • Thursdays = Local Brews & Burgers, which will probably be an awesome $20Date;) {we’ll be back!}
  • Saturdays = Movies in the Park, 6p-11p. Another date idea!
  • Check out their event calendar for more fun date ideas.
  • The Commons has a giant chess board. Yes, we did play. Yes, Rob won.
  • There is a carousel! Not sure if adults are allowed on it…:)
  • De-NoVo has an incredibly delicious Happy Hour menu, which includes many drinks to choose from–and it’s all affordable!
  • De-NoVo has a cool atmosphere, with friendly service.

Total = $6 Crispy Chicken Club + $4.50 Summer Chopped Salad (we split both of these items & were full) + $5 for 2 beers + tax/tip = $20 even!

Happy Dating,
