I battered my first fish when I was ten, and my first pickle when I was twelve. I know what I’m doing. – Gaylord Wirrick

If you like delicious appetizers, Old Bag of Nails Happy Hour is the perfect place for you! I’m partial to their fried favorites: Beer Battered Pickles, Hand Battered Mushrooms & Onion Rings! But they also have really great nachos & potato cakes…yummmm! With your 1/2 off appetizers, you can also order a 1/2 off draft beer, 1/2 off well liquor drink or $2 off house wine!

It’s Thursday…

2 Comments Aside, Date Ideas

….so I’m catching up on my Google Reader:) Top 3 Things I Caught Up On:

  1. Just stumbled across a post by a local blogger I enjoy–Jessica (yep, awesome name) is a Columbus mom with a fun blog! She recently posted on FREE things to do with the kiddos around Columbus. And actually, reading her list of 15 fun activities has inspired me! Most of the options can be perfect $20 Dates for the “big kid” in all of us! Check her list out @ Bustle Bee. Some of my favorites include the Ohio Craft Museum, Hartman Aviary, & Anthony Thomas factory tour (yes please!). Thanks for this great list Jessica!
  2. Nick is a Columbus blogger who loves breakfast & rightfully so–it’s the best meal of the day! This past Saturday, my roommates & I stopped by Dirty Frank’s for the unveiling of their Brunch Menu!! Nick was there as well with his family! Check out his post on the amazing, delicious brunch. Thanks Breakfast with Nick–I couldn’t have said it better!
  3. This one might be a little biased, but I think my most favorite post to catch up today was one by my good friend Melissa, wonderful Columbus photographer. She recently did a shoot with my handsome, adorable nephews. I couldn’t help but look over and over at each of the pictures! Can’t wait to steal copies from my sister to hang in my house!! Thanks Melissa Pauquette Photography for capturing how great they both are. :)

(Happy Hour) of the Week!

3 Comments Date Ideas, Happy Hour, Monday, Short North

Starting today (Sunday), I’m going to highlight a Hip Happenin’ Happy Hour in Columbus. (say that three times fast!) The idea is that you will learn about somewhere (possibly) new & turn it into your own $20 Date!

This Week’s Deal Is:

Bodega!

What: Cool local bar/gathering place
Where: Short North – 1044 N. High Street
Happy Hour: M-F 4p-8p
Featured Deal: 1/2 off all 50 drafts
Phone: 614.299.9399
Bodega

The featured day to try Bodega’s Happy Hour has to be, hands down, MONDAY! Monday is always lame, so after work, grab a date & head to Bodega for their $1 Grilled Cheese Night! They also have 50 beers on draft, which are all HALF-OFF during happy hour! Two awesome reasons to try this place, not to mention its laid-back environment with a patio & good music.

Try Bodega this week & remember: Monday is $1 Grilled Cheese Night! Easily a $20 date:)

Happy Dating,
